It is SO hard to to pick a favorite playground but this one has definitely earned a spot in my top 5! You know I love a good themed playground and the details at this one were INCREDIBLE. The playground is HUGE and has 3 separate sections – one for ages 5-12, one for 2-5 and a memorial garden area featuring benches and beautiful artwork. Each section is separated by a low fence which I liked because it at least helped contain my kids from running too far off.
This playground was a community effort and was completed in 2016. I really enjoyed reading the story behind it – you can read more about it here! The playground featured hand painted artwork throughout, and the level of detail is astounding!
I won’t be able to fit anywhere near enough characters to describe how amazing this park was, but I’ll do my best to summarize and share as many pictures here and in my stories as I can!
We started in the toddler area that featured a huge fire struck and boats, a Terps themed playhouse, a pet store and fire station.
The big kid area has a story book theme. There is one massive play structure with tons of passageways and hidden throughout are classic book characters. There are two ziplines, a giant boat (that actually rocks!), tunnels, hidden passageways, rope bridges, unique climbing opportunities, monkey bars low enough for toddlers, etc etc – I could go on and on!
Before heading home we stopped into the memorial garden section, and this was a great spot to wind down before getting in the car. The girls loved looking at the different titles of artwork and finding different things to look at – perfect spot of a game of “I spy”!
Just FYI, the park shares a parking lot with Perry Hall Library. On Honeygo Blvd you will see the library sign – use that entrance!
🚽 Bathrooms 🚽: We did not go in or see if they were open, but followers have shared that there are bathrooms in the small building by the amphitheater
👩👧👦Solo w/ kids?👩👧👦: this is NOT a playground I’d feel comfortable going to alone with 2 toddlers – tons of hiding spots and it was really tough to keep track of them!
