3042 Patuxent River Road
Davidsonville, MD 21035
Davidsonville Park consists of several sports fields, a nice paved walking trail that runs along a creek and pond in some portions, a small playground, and access to the Patuxent River (we did not explore this area). The paved trail is perfect for strollers or riding bikes. We parked by baseball field 3 and took the path down to the left past a pond and then along the creek. There were several access points to the creek where my girls went down to splash in the water. In one area someone had even put out some St. Patrick’s day decorations, which obviously the kids loved 😂
The path then takes you over a bridge and then past some of the sports fields until you eventually get to the playground. This is a small playground but the perfect size for young toddlers. We were the only ones there the entire time. There is one big play structure and 4 swings (2 regular and 2 toddler). From the playground you can continue on around the trail but we turned around and went back the way we came. One our way back we ended up seeing a heron in the pond!
Also it looks like they recently added features to make this a “family fitness trail.” There were several stops added along the trail with cute signs depicting different workouts to do. We didn’t do any working out 😂 but the girls like reading the signs and trying out the moves.
Overall this was a great, easy outing. Plenty of room to spread out and perfect size playground and creek for toddlers!
