Tucked back in a business park off of Rt. 3 in Crofton is Chesepiooc Real Ale Brewery. We discovered this place last summer and it has become a regular spot for us!
Chesepiooc is a one of the best local (to us) places to enjoy a beer or hard cider and sit outside. They have 8 outdoor tables with umbrellas and a large front lawn area where kids can run and play. They also frequently have several corn hole boards set up. At night the area is lit up with string lights 😍 The green space here is not as sprawling as some other breweries that are further from us – but for Crofton, its big!
Last year we found the outdoor seating to fill up pretty fast, but this year that hasn’t been the case when we’ve visited. If you want to be on the safe side, bring your own chairs just in case! They also have plenty of indoor seating if you’re comfortable being inside. They have food trucks Friday-Sunday, and they post this info along with their tap list on their Facebook page each week.
There are also several nearby local restaurants you can support, like Ashling Kitchen and Bar, Ledos and Pick Thai. Outside food is allowed, so we often grab carryout from one of these places and bring it over.
Honestly, this place is a hidden gem and I really encourage you to check it out! If you’re looking for a way to ease your kids into outdoor dining – this would be a great option. Grab food from the food truck or from one of the nearby restaurants and enjoy sitting outside!
