Foxhill Park
5001 Collington Rd
Bowie, MD 20715
We love visiting Foxhill Park in Bowie! This park includes a nice shady playground, Foxhill lake (with a historic stone bridge across it), paved and natural surface trails, athletic fields, a picnic pavilion and bathrooms!
The playground includes a tot lot and an area of bigger kids, a big red spiral slide (my girls favorite), toddler swings, regular swings and a tire swing.
The park is located along the paved bike trail that goes through Bowie. There is a paved-ish trail that goes halfway around the lake to the stone bridge – however I do NOT consider this part to be stroller friendly (or even walking friendly most days! 😩 the path is in desperate need of repair and is almost always flooded in one section. To avoid getting soaked you have to walk WAY up and around the hill to get to the rest of the path. When we come here we either view the lake from the paved bike trail (if I have the stroller) or access it from the natural surface trail (with baby in the carrier since this area is not stroller friendly) off the back of the playground where flooding isn’t an Issue.
The girls love the short walk through the woods and walking along the stone bridge. We often see turtles and tons of geese here!
The sports fields here get a lot of use so the parking lot can fill up quickly on the weekends if there are games going on. During the week though this park is very quiet!
