On our way to Ocean City we love stopping at Sailwinds Park in Cambridge, MD. This our favorite place to stop for a break from the drive as it is almost exactly halfway to the beach from where we live. It has a great playground, a nice beach area, a waterfront trail and – most importantly – clean bathrooms! 🙌🏼
Just 5 minutes down the road from the playground is Bay Country Bakery. They serve delicious donuts, pastries breakfast sandwiches and lunch items. We grabbed cookies for the girls and crumb cake for me – so good! The perfect treat to get us through the rest of the drive 😊
Cambridge isn’t just a place to stop on the way to the beach though! We LOVE staying at the Hyatt Chesapeake resort. We’ve been a few times without the girls, but the resort is also super kid-friendly so we are hoping to plan a trip there with them soon! Cambridge has a great downtown area which includes RAR brewery (our favorite!) and several great restaurant. Also nearby is Blackwater Wildlife Refuge. You can really make a great day trip or weekend trip to visit this area!
