We love the playground at the Bowie Community Center (brand new – opened in May 2021!)
Highlights:

⭐️ super bright and colorful!
⭐️ Unique equipment including a rope bridge and nest swing.
⭐️ plenty for crawlers to do!
⭐️ small musical area
This playground is small but feels so much bigger now that it’s been redoune! They really made great use of the space here! The playground is located on Stonybrook Drive, but the parking is located next to the community center (pull into the shopping center entrance)
This playground is also unique for our area because it is located WALKING distance to several restaurants at the Bowie Marketplace shopping center. Today we tried Island Fin poke – I got a tuna poke bowl and Dole whip for the girls – delicious! They offer curbside pick up so I ordered and paid online and they brought it right out to my car. 🙌🏼
The community center playground is operated by PG Parks and Rec and it is also right next to Acorn Hill park which is operated by the City of Bowie. Acorn Hill park is mostly a big open field, but is really pretty and well maintained and has a nice brick walking path and several benches. It is a perfect spot for a picnic – we came here a lot during quarantine! We had a picnic lunch at Acorn Hill park and then walked over to the community center playground to play.
