Somerset Park

Somerset Park
12319 Stonehaven Lane
Bowie, MD 20715

Somerset Park is tucked in the woods next to to the Somerset Park 55+ community – it is one of our favorite local playgrounds! There are two large mulched playground areas (one geared towards younger kids and one for older) and swings for all abilities. There is a paved trail through the playground area and a tennis court that’s rarely in use (great for bringing bikes or scooters!) The playground is surrounded by plenty of open space with lots of trees for kids to run around.

The playground here is SO impressive and not what you’re used to seeing in a neighborhood park. The slides are HUGE – this is really a fun spot for older kids who might be otherwise bored by playgrounds.

To access this playground it’s best to put the address for the senior community in your GPS (that is the address listed above). I pull into the senior community and turn right towards the playground, There are a few spots facing the playground where I usually park. If you put the name of the park into the GPS, it will guide you to the entrance on Stonybrook Drive which has a path going into the park but no parking lot.

There is lots of shade at this park so file this one away as a great spot to visit during the heat of summer. There are also several tube slides, so no worries about the slides getting too hot if they do end up in the sun!
