Wincopin Trail is located near Savage, MD along the Middle Patuxent river. This is a great trail to bring toddlers! The dirt trail is flat most of the way with a short section of steep path to get down to the edge of the river. My girls love dipping their toes in the water when we get down to the river bank. We have been on a weekend morning in both July and October and had the trail mostly to ourselves. We followed the red trail down to the river, then turned around and headed back the way we came.
There is a picnic table by the parking lot at the trail entrance and a bench located just past the trail head. There is also a small grassy area just past the trailhead if you wanted to bring a blanket and have a picnic.
As you can tell from the map, there is SO much more to explore here beyond what we have done. When our girls are a little bigger we will be able to walk further and see more. Highly recommend checking this place out if you are looking for a nice scenic hike along a river. It was especially beautiful in the fall!

🅿️Parking🅿️: small parking lot that fills up quickly on weekends. Street parking available if lot is full.
Forgot my carrier on this trip and was able to make it work with a blanket, lol!
