Hi and thanks for visiting my blog!
My name is Megan and I am located in Maryland about halfway between Annapolis, MD and Washington, DC. I was born and raised in this area and am now raising my 3 daughters here. I have 3 year old twins and a 1 year old (yes, we had 3 under 3!) I taught first grade for 6 years and became a SAHM when my twins were born. I have always like to travel, but add in 3 kids in 2.5 years and a global pandemic and traveling hasn’t really been as easy as it used to!
I have lived in this area my whole life but when the COVID-19 pandemic hit I was at a total loss on what to do and where to go to (safely) entertain my girls. We’ve always had to be very Covid cautious with a new born and grandparents we see regularly. We started by exploring local parks and trails, then added in (non-busy) playgrounds when those reopened. I would post pictures of our adventures to my personal page and would have other local friends asking where we were, what to expect, etc. I realized there was a need for this type of resource in our area but it wasn’t until just recently that I decided that resource could be me! 😂
From there, the Maryland Kid Adventures was born! I started out with just an Instagram, @md.kid.adventures, but decided to begin this blog as well so I could provide more details than the 2200 characters that Instagram allows. This blog also allows me to better organize information for you – here you can browse by activity or county to find the kind of adventure you’re looking for!
Thanks for following along and I look forward to helping you find new places to explore. If you have any suggestions of places we should visit, please feel free to share! We are always looking for new ideas.
Happy travels!
